Darktrace Expands to Osaka as Japan Prepares to Host 2020 Olympic Games

Tokyo, Japan
July 18, 2019

Darktrace, the world’s leading cyber AI company, today announced that the company has opened a new office in Osaka to meet unprecedented demand for its autonomous cyber AI technology in Western Japan.

Cyber defense has never been a higher priority for Japanese organizations as the nation prepares to host major global events, such as the 2019 Rugby World Cup, 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the 2025 Osaka Expo. Security teams face the challenge of defending critical systems against increasingly fast and automated threats – despite a significant cyber skills shortage.

Japanese organizations of all sizes and industries have rapidly adopted ‘cyber AI’ to allow them to instantly identify and stop sophisticated cyber-threats in real time. Customers include Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Keihan Holdings Co., Ltd., and Netyear Group Corporation.

To meet the growing customer demand for its technology, Darktrace has doubled its headcount in Japan over the past year. Its two offices in Tokyo’s Cerulean Tower and Osaka’s Hilton Plaza West will support the company’s expansion across the country.

Under the international spotlight of the forthcoming major events, Japan will be expected to provide cutting-edge cyber defense, leveraging the latest advances in artificial intelligence to defend its enterprises and critical infrastructure,” commented Yuji Ashiya, Japan Country Manager, Darktrace. “Organizations need to be prepared to fight back against cyber-attacks that could strike at any time of day. Darktrace AI is a fundamental ally in that battle, autonomously identifying and fighting back against cyber-attacks as they unfold.”
