She was also Sky's Group Chief Information Security Officer, owning and delivering Sky's strategic plan for cyber security.

Prior to Sky, Elaine held operational and consultancy roles with multinational market leaders in the Telecommunications, Media, Technology, Travel, Utilities and Financial sectors, including at ITV, the BBC and AOL/Carphone Warehouse, where she advised at Board, executive and leadership level on technology capabilities for growth, efficiency and resilience in highly disrupted markets.

We're thrilled to have someone of her calibre join our Board. Her direct experience as CISO for Sky means that she will bring immensely valuable cyber security experience to our Board, alongside her broader industry expertise. We look forward to her contribution as Darktrace continues to scale and deliver on its mission of freeing the world of cyber disruption."

Elaine Bucknor commented, "I've seen first-hand the scale and complexity of cyber threats that organisations increasingly face and how hard it is for security and technology teams to get ahead of these attacks. I've long been an admirer of Darktrace's unique self-learning AI which has become a last line of cyber defence for more than 8,000 customers around the world. I'm looking forward to joining Darktrace's Board and helping the company to accelerate the delivery of its first-class proactive cyber security solutions to more of the leading organisations around the world."
