UK’s Leading Berry Producer Selects Cyber AI

Berry Gardens Uses AI for Food Safety
Cambridge, UK
April 4, 2019

Darktrace, the world’s leading AI company for cyber defence, has today announced that Berry Gardens, the UK’s leading berry and stone fruit producer, has deployed Darktrace’s Industrial Immune System to protect its entire digital infrastructure from highly disruptive attacks and insider threats.

The British co-operative joins a growing list of industry leaders, including Sunsweet, the world’s largest manufacturer of dried fruit, embracing AI into the core of their security.

Berry Gardens was on the hunt for a technology that would protect its operational systems, including fruit production lines and warehousing, from the full range of modern threats, no matter where they emerge. Powered by AI, the Industrial Immune System learns the unique ‘pattern of life’ for every user and device at Berry Gardens, allowing the organisation to spot anomalous behaviour that would otherwise slip under the radar.

The reality is that attacks played out in cyber space are having real-world consequences, and for us they have the potential to threaten our ability to operate our rapid supply chain and continue to supply quality fresh produce to the UK’s major retailers,” commented James Judge, IT Manager at Berry Gardens. “Whether a targeted campaign or an accidental compromise, I know that Darktrace’s AI will catch in-progress threats, safeguarding our corporate and industrial systems before the horse has bolted.”
