Darktrace Protects Intellectual Property for Vitamin Manufacturer

Country Life Vitamins Embraces AI to Fight Back Against Cyber-Attacks
San Francisco
May 21, 2019

Darktrace, the world’s leading cyber AI company, has today announced that Country Life Vitamins, a leading vitamin and supplement manufacturer in the US, has deployed Darktrace AI. Darktrace detects and neutralizes advanced attacks targeting the organization’s manufacturing facilities, intellectual property, and IoT devices.

With multiple facilities across the US, Country Life Vitamins needs to secure both its critical intellectual property and manufacturing facilities. The organization recently introduced IoT devices into its research labs and manufacturing environments, which streamlined and automated certain processes, but also expanded the attack surface.

To help its lean security team secure these IoT devices, along with its vitamin formulas and product research, Country Life Vitamins turned to the Enterprise Immune System. Darktrace’s cyber AI continuously learns the normal ‘pattern of life’ for each user and device across the business, catching insider threats or IoT attacks that would have otherwise gone undetected.

Chris Zeller, Director of Information Technology at Country Life Vitamins, said: “After just the first week, Darktrace was alerting us to threats that all our other security tools had missed. In one instance, the cyber AI detected an employee beginning to exfiltrate sensitive data and was able to stop this breach in real time, before any data was stolen.”

Zeller continued, “We don’t have a security team working around the clock, but Darktrace’s ability to detect and contain attacks in real time enables us to feel confident our business is secure 24/7. Darktrace’s AI is revolutionary – it is transforming the way we think about security.”
