Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has today announced that Sunsweet has deployed its self-learning technology into the heart of its network to detect and take action against cyber-threats.

Founded in 1917, Sunsweet is the world’s largest manufacturer of dried fruit, controlling more than a third of the global prune market. In addition to operating the largest dried fruit plant in the world, it represents nearly 300 grower-members and processes nearly 70,000 tons of prunes per year.

As a globally-recognized agricultural cooperative, Sunsweet considers the security of its data to be a business priority, and works diligently to protect the highly sensitive financial, proprietary, and customer information stored within its network. The company deployed Darktrace’s unique self-learning technology to detect and take remedial action against even the most sophisticated cyber-threats in real time. The Enterprise Immune System uses AI algorithms that build a baseline of what is ‘normal’ for a network and identify anomalous patterns instantaneously.

A few weeks after it was deployed, the Enterprise Immune System alerted the security team to an anomaly within its network – malware had infected a company machine. The security team immediately took action, fixing the problem within an hour, when it previously would have taken weeks.
