Former National Intelligence Expert Launches Darktrace in Canada
Darktrace, the leader in Enterprise Immune System technology, has established an office in Toronto, led by David Masson, who has over twenty years of security and intelligence experience with both the Canadian and UK governments.
Darktrace’s expansion into Canada comes at a time where many organizations are reflecting on whether they are doing enough to protect their internal data and data of their customers, particularly in light of recent high-profile breaches.
Grounded in mathematics and powered by machine learning developed at the University of Cambridge, Darktrace defends organizations against internal and external threats by monitoring network traffic in real time to uncover subtle changes in network activity. Unlike other security tools that rely on rules and signatures, Darktrace’s ‘immune system’ approach learns what is ‘normal’ for the network and identifies the early indicators of threat, before a crisis occurs.
“Darktrace has been working with Canadian companies since our inception, but we are excited to now have an on-the-ground presence,” said Canada Country Manager, David Masson. “Darktrace is at the forefront of cyber intelligence and well-positioned to help companies protect their network environments. Our unique ‘immune system’ approach will benefit Canadian businesses of all sizes and complexities.”
“Darktrace was built by some of the sharpest minds with backgrounds in machine learning and government intelligence,” said CEO, Nicole Eagan. “Our Enterprise Immune System is an entirely innovative approach to network security in response to the ever-evolving threat landscape. Security teams need to spot the real threats early – and with Darktrace, that’s possible.”
Since its founding in 2013, Darktrace has grown to almost 300 employees in 20 global offices from Singapore to San Francisco. Darktrace has deployed its self-learning technology to organizations across a number of industries including finance, energy, manufacturing and professional services.
